DESCRIPTION

Borrowed Sun isolates a tall prickly pear cactus against intersecting planes of sunlit architecture. Rounded pads climb through the center, while an enlarged cactus shadow stretches across the orange surface on the left and gives the scene a second, quieter silhouette. Orange, pink, and green are the three dominant colors, creating a warm palette balanced by cool accents within the plant. The artwork combines modern botanical imagery, geometric abstraction, minimalist color blocking, mid-century design, and a lightly Matisse-inspired simplification of natural forms. Visible brushwork and uneven painted edges keep the broad shapes tactile rather than digitally flat.
